Amazon Launches Tool That Allows Sellers To Easily Export Across Europe

Amazon has launched a new tool called Export Central, which allows sellers who are a part of its Merchant Fulfilled Network (MFN) to expand their reach to consumers in 39 countries in Europe.

The tool is part of a wider free-to-use European Export Programme that enables Amazon sellers to export from six stores: the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands. The European Export Programme allows Amazon sellers to reach millions of consumers in countries where there is no Amazon store, including destinations such as Austria, Portugal, and Greece, without the need to duplicate listings or register new accounts.

The online giant noted that its European Export Programme drives traffic and conversions to existing seller listings, offering growth opportunities. It is available to all sellers regardless of whether they use the firm’s Fulfilment By Amazon (FBA) service or are part of Merchant Fulfilled Network (MFN).

Amazon revealed that sellers who have enabled Export from their European stores have seen an average sales uplift of up to 10%.

The company noted that sellers can enable international shipping settings from multiple stores simultaneously in just three clicks or by accessing Export Central through their Seller Account and exploring their export expansion opportunities.

Xavier Flamand, Amazon’s VP of Seller Services, Europe, said: “We are always looking at ways to support our selling partners to grow their business and Export Central is a game-changer for Amazon sellers looking to expand their businesses across borders, especially in countries where Amazon does not operate a store. Sellers can now seamlessly list and ship their products across Europe with ease.

“Our programme eliminates many of the traditional barriers to international expansion, allowing entrepreneurs to focus on what they do best – creating and selling amazing products. At Amazon, were committed to empowering small and medium-sized businesses by providing them with powerful tools and services to reach customers globally.”

NAM Implications:
  • ‘Consumer centric’ means consumer centric…
  • Fits nicely with Amazon’s policy of selling to consumers…
  • …whenever, where, how and from whom (Amazon) the consumer wishes.
  • i.e. just another extension of the service.
  • So if you would like ‘an average sales uplift of up to 10%’….
