Following a trial in Birmingham and Salford that began in May, Amazon has announced that its grocery partnership with rapid delivery platform Gopuff is being rolled out in cities across the UK.

Gopuff’s storefront on Amazon’s website will offer thousands of products, including alcohol, fresh food, cleaning supplies, baby essentials and snacks, which will be delivered by the quick commerce firm in under an hour, and as fast as 15 minutes.

Available 24 hours a day, orders are prepared by Gopuff’s staff in its micro-fulfilment centres near major population hubs and distributed by its delivery partners.

The service is now available in Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Chessington, Coventry, Derby, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Salford, Sheffield, and Swansea.

Gopuff joins other grocery retailers available on Amazon’s UK site, including Morrisons, Iceland, and Co-op.

“We are always working to give customers more choice and more convenient options to have their groceries delivered,” said Russell Jones, Director of Grocery Partnerships at Amazon.

“Partnering with Gopuff and other grocery partners is an important way of offering Amazon customers their favourite stores and brands, ordered via our website. The new launch with Gopuff brings our customers access to a convenient and affordable way to access their everyday groceries.”

Gopuff SVP of UK and new business Alberto Menolascina added: “At Gopuff, we’ve spent the past 12 years scaling a nationwide delivery and fulfilment network to establish ourselves as the global leader in instant commerce.

“Now, we’re delighted to leverage our unique model to help millions of Amazon customers across the UK access thousands of affordable groceries in as fast as 15 minutes.”
