Ocado Set To Shed Hundreds Of Jobs Following Warehouse Fire

Up to 400 jobs are under threat at Ocado following the fire that destroyed its hi-tech distribution centre in Andover, Hampshire, in February.

The online grocer has decided to rebuild the facility after a search for new premises was unsuccessful. It said the posts – nearly half the workforce on the site – were at risk because work to rebuild the centre would take at least two years.

Ocado stated that it had commenced a formal consultation process and hoped to be able re-employ Andover staff in the future.
