Rapid online grocery delivery service Jiffy has announced the opening of two new ‘dark stores’ this month, supporting its growth throughout London since launching in April this year.
Stratford and Islington stores launch this week, adding to the portfolio of its existing branches encompassing Bethnal Green, Battersea, Waterloo, Park Royal, Deptford and Teddington. The Stratford branch will also include Click & Collect, a first for the industry, where customers can collect their orders rather than using the delivery service.
Jiffy has also announced its first own-brand range of fresh produce – a first of its kind in the ultrafast delivery sector. The firm has collaborated with local family-run business Watts Farm based in Kent and Essex. The Jiffy brand range includes everything from blackcurrants and bananas, to spinach and strawberries.
Vladimir Kholiaznikov, founding partner of Jiffy said: “We are delighted to launch our seventh and eighth stores in London, with more to come before the year is out.
“When we launched in April we had ambitious expansion plans, and I am thrilled to see these come to fruition and to be bringing the convenience of Jiffy to more Londoners. Launching our own brand fresh produce is a key part of our development, as we are committed to giving our customers the best possible choice, when and where they need it.”
NAM Implications:
- Apart from speed and Click & collect…
- …the private label add-on makes Jiffy a real threat to mainstream grocery supply.
- Time for a fundamental review of relative competitive appeal…
- …based on post- lockdown realities?
