Compass Replaces Finance Head

Catering giant Compass Group has announced that Karen Witts has “mutually agreed” with its Board to step down as Chief Financial Officer end of this month after two-and-a-half years in the role.

She is being replaced by Palmer Brown, a 20-year veteran of the company, with immediate effect. He is currently Compass’ Group Commercial Director and served as Interim CFO for a period from 2018 to 2019.

Dominic Blakemore, Compass Group’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “I would also like to thank Karen for her significant support as the Company has successfully faced up to the unprecedented demands on our business posed by the pandemic.

“Palmer has contributed to the success of Compass over many years and his commercial and financial skillset and his deep knowledge of the Group are ideally suited to our next phase of development and growth.”

Last month, Compass revealed that its fourth-quarter revenues had come in slightly above expectations following the reopening of sports stadiums and students returning to schools and universities.
