The Country Range Group (CRG) has announced that family-owned wholesaler Arthur David has joined its foodservice buying group.
Based in Bishop Sutton, Bristol, Arthur David was founded in 1962 and now makes over 42,000 deliveries to caterers and chefs across the South West every month. The Arthur David team is made up of over 435 members of staff, and there are three generations of the David family working within the business.
Arthur David will join the Country Range Group as of 1 January 2024, providing them with access to its buying power and insights, the Country Range own brand range, as well as the marketing campaigns and promotions.
Country Range Group Chief Executive Martin Ward said: “Ever since Arthur David first opened as a fruit & veg merchant back in 1962, his company’s success has been based on great people, hard work, dedication and supreme customer service. They couldn’t be a better fit for CRG, and we can’t wait to have them as members and get the exciting partnership started.”
Alex Rall, Managing Director of Arthur David, commented: “While many independent wholesale businesses are being swallowed up by the big players in the industry, we’re immensely proud of our independence, we love what we do and remain passionate about our customers. The Country Range Group has been leading the way and carrying the torch for independent wholesale businesses so we’re delighted to be part of the family and look forward to working closely with the other members to drive further success.”
Arthur David follows Brook Street Foodservice and Harlech Foodservice as the third new member to join the Country Range Group within the last 12 months.
