Poundland is giving 150 stores in the UK and Ireland a major overhaul as part of its ‘Project Evo’ transformation programme.
The process, which is expected to be completed by August, marks the first significant investment in the majority of the stores for over five years.
The revamp includes fresh signage, flooring and lighting, while back office areas will be overhauled to improve conditions for staff. The shops also will be reconfigured to carry the discounter’s most comprehensive range, including chilled and frozen food, and its latest clothing and homewares ranges.
The first 11 refurbishments, which include some Dealz outlets in Ireland, will be completed this weekend, with a further 42 renovated by Easter and the rest over the summer months.
“Project Evo represents a significant investment in a substantial number of stores to make them brilliant places to shop and work,” said Poundland’s director of property services Alan Smallman.
“Over the past five years, we’ve transformed our offer for customers, adding extensive ranges of clothing, homewares, chilled and frozen food. We’re now embarking on a programme that will show off those ranges in a modern and bright environment that’s easy to shop, navigate and checkout.
“We look forward to bringing our best offer to these 150 stores over the coming months.”
Last month, Poundland revealed that it was overhauling its product offering with its biggest-ever makeover in general merchandise.
