Roger Burnley, the former Chief Executive of Asda, is joining Pets at Home as a Non-Executive Director.
He will take up the role on 14 February 2023 and become a member of the retailer’s audit and risk committee, remuneration committee, nomination and corporate governance committee, and ESG committee.
Burnley spent ten years as an Executive Director of Sainsbury’s before joining Asda as Chief Operating Officer in 2016. He was appointed Chief Executive of the supermarket in 2017, leaving after four years in August 2021.
Burnley is currently Non-Executive Chairman of Finnbrogue Artisan, an Irish food manufacturer.

In its most recent half-year update, Pets at Home posted a healthy 7.3% rise in revenue to £727.2m after continuing to benefit from record levels of pet ownership in the UK.
