Halfords has appointed Jo Hartley as its new Chief Financial Officer.
Due to join the business in mid-April 2022, she will succeed Loraine Woodhouse, who is retiring.
Hartley has been working as group CFO at Virgin Active since 2015. After starting her career at Deloitte UK, she then moved to Tesco in 1999 where she held several roles, including Finance Director for convenience stores and operations and then property for Tesco UK. She subsequently worked as CFO of Tesco Poland before leading the finance function for Tesco UK as Interim Finance Director.
In order to ensure a smooth transition, Woodhouse will remain with the business until the retailer’s full-year preliminary results in June 2022, at which point she will step down from her role.
Keith Williams, Chairman of Halfords, said: “On behalf of the board, I am delighted to be welcoming someone of Jo’s calibre to Halfords. Her experience and expertise will be invaluable as we look to build on the strong momentum within the business, while also navigating our way through the current challenges and uncertainties of the wider trading environment.”
NAM Implications:
- More importantly, NAMs should anticipate a renewed focus on finance in dealing with Halfords.
- i.e. time to upskill your capability in calculating cost…
- …and demonstrating value to Halfords…
- …in terms of your offering’s impact on their Balance Sheet and P&L (Net Margin and Capital rotation)
- * Unless you decide to wait until they ask?
