The John Lewis Partnership will return to profit this year, its chairman Dame Sharon White has said, as the retailer prepares to cut as many as 11,000 jobs as part of its turnaround plan.
Dame Sharon told staff that the partnership, which also owns Waitrose, will “more than break-even” after it slumped to a £234m loss last year.
