The Range Hits Store Opening Milestone Following Homebase Acquisition

The Range has revealed that it has reached a milestone in its expansion with the opening of 30 new format superstores across the UK and the Republic of Ireland following its acquisition of the Homebase brand and up to 70 sites at the end of last year.

The-Range-HomebaseAmong the latest additions in recent days to The Range estate are new locations in Winchester, Balloo Park, Bangor (NI), Sligo and Drogheda (Republic of Ireland), taking the business to 30 store openings since January.

All the newly launched stores offer The Range’s established product selection alongside categories Homebase was known for, creating a one-stop shop for home and gardening products.

One of the key features of the new stores is the integration of ‘Garden Centres by Homebase’ sections, which offer plants, garden furniture, BBQs and other outside items.

Meanwhile, an expanded kitchen department in selected stores is operating under the ‘Kitchens by Homebase’ banner, offering kitchen designs and accessories.

The Range noted that the response to the new format from shoppers has been extremely positive, with many praising the retailer on social media.

Alex Simpkin, CEO of CDS Superstores, which trade as The Range, Wilko and Homebase, said: “We’re so proud to celebrate the opening of 30 new format superstores. The expansion marks a significant milestone in our journey and allows us to offer an even more exciting shopping experience to our customers, with a wider selection of home improvement, gardening and kitchen products available under one roof at convenient locations across the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

“We continue to look forward to welcoming shoppers into our stores and providing them with everything they need for their homes and gardens.”
