Wilko’s new owner, CDS Superstores, has revealed that the brand will return to London this Autumn with a store opening in the Pavilions Shopping Centre in Uxbridge.
The retailer’s sixth store was opened in Poole, Dorset, last Friday in its former unit at the Dolphin Centre. CDS Superstores, which also owns The Range, noted that all the stores reopened since it acquired the brand out of administration last October are making a profit, with it still targeting around 300 sites across the UK.
Executives said that the most recent opening marked the end of its concept trial, with it now moving into the full rollout phase.
The 30,000 sq. ft. store in Uxbridge will stock the retailer’s range of health & beauty, food, DIY, garden, and homeware products.
CDS Superstores Chief Executive Alex Simpkin said: “Our expansion is about bringing Wilko back to the heart of communities, providing quality and value in every corner of the UK.
“We’ve had a great reception from customers in our six locations to date, and from wilko.com shoppers, and we’re thrilled to announce our reopening in Uxbridge, which also marks our return to Greater London, too.”
