Wyevale has agreed the sale of another 11 of its gardening centres in 4 separate transactions.
British Garden Centres will acquire eight sights in Albrighton, Birchencliffe, Bressingham, Gardenlands, Hemel Hempstead, Louth, Tarporley and Wolseley Bridge. This follows their earlier acquisition of six centres.
Meanwhile, The Plant Area Limited will acquire Wyevale’s Woking garden centre, Coolings Garden Centres will buy its Wych Cross site, and Maidenhead Aquatics will acquire its Dummer centre.
The move is part of the group’s recent strategy to trim down its estate as private equity owner Terra Firma seeks to offload the business. The latest sale takes the total number of sites sold to 101 since the process began last year.
The sale process is being handled by property advisor Christie & Co, who stated that there still remains the opportunity to acquire a small group or a portfolio of “well performing garden centres located in attractive locations”.
