Boots has expanded its on-demand delivery offering by teaming up with Just Eat.
The service is now live in 50 Boots stores across major cities, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, and Edinburgh. Just Eat customers in these areas can order from a selection of over 1,000 Boots products for quick delivery, including medicines, beauty products, toiletries, skincare items, baby products, fragrances, and food and drink options. The retailer plans to extend the service to a further 100 stores by spring 2025.
Paula Bobbett, chief digital officer at Boots, said: “We’re delighted to partner with Just Eat to bring our range of health and beauty products to customers in a fast, flexible, and convenient way, wherever they are.
“Our online business continues to grow and partnerships with platforms like Just Eat enable our customers a way to access our products quickly and easily.”
The Just Eat partnership isn’t Boots’ first foray into on-demand delivery, having worked with Deliveroo and Uber Eats in recent years. However, the move marks the first time that Just Eat has partnered with a major pharmacy-led retailer and is part of its recent push into the non-food market.
Claire Pointon, Managing Director of Just Eat UK & Ireland, said: “The launch of our new partnership with Boots marks an exciting milestone for Just Eat as we continue to expand our offering beyond food delivery to everyday essentials.
“By partnering with the UK’s leading health and beauty retailer, we’re continuing our mission to empower convenience for our customers, helping them get whatever they want, whenever and wherever they need it.”
NAM Implications:
- And if successful, why stop at 150 stores by Spring 2025?
- Both parties benefit in terms of coverage economies and incremental sales…
- …and a first for Just Eat.
- Key for suppliers to lobby for inclusion in the Just Eat offering.
