Walgreens Boots Alliance has announced that James Kehoe, its Executive VP and Global Chief Financial Officer, will step down this month to pursue an opportunity in the technology sector.
The health & beauty giant stated that Manmohan Mahajan, its current Global Controller, will become Interim CFO from mid-August while it conducts a search to fill the role permanently.
Chief Executive, Rosalind Brewer, commented: “James has been a valuable member of my executive leadership team and has made significant contributions over his five years with the company. As we articulated the future vision of Walgreens Boots Alliance to become a leading healthcare company, James helped build a strong Finance organization. We wish him well in his next role.”
She added: “I am confident in Manmohan as he steps into the interim role while we launch a search for a new Global Chief Financial Officer”.
WBA has been looking to expand beyond its core retail and pharmacy business, with acquisitions of healthcare services operator VillageMD and urgent-care provider Summit Health.
Recent reports have suggested that a sale or flotation of the Boots business in the UK is back on the cards as WBA looks to focus on the lucrative healthcare market in the US.
