LloydsPharmacy Secures Prison Pharmacy Contract

LloydsPharmacy has been awarded the contract to provide pharmacy services and supplies to all prisons in Scotland.

The pharmacy retailer is now in its tenth year of supporting prisons in Scotland and will now continue to do so until 2022.

The contract is made up of patient medicine and stock supply as well as clinical advice and support services, which will be provided to all 15 prisons in Scotland.

LloydsPharmacy has a main dispensary, which is the centralised dispensing hub for 10 of the Scottish prisons, as well as an on-site dispensary in HMP Barlinnie and local community pharmacies that are located throughout the country that support daily supply.

Colin McCreath from parent company McKesson UK said: “It’s great that we can continue to provide a comprehensive pharmacy service for all 15 Scottish prisons. This contract is testament to the hard work from everyone at the prisons, the Health Boards and the LloydsPharmacy team who deliver great results together.”
