Sephora, the LVMH-owned cosmetics retailer that re-entered the UK market in 2023, has opened its ninth store in the country at Sheffield’s Meadowhall shopping centre.
Spanning 3,389 sq. ft, the shop marks the beauty retailer’s first opening of the summer as it continues to expand following its opening at Liverpool ONE in May.
Last year, the company launched new stores in Manchester Trafford Centre, Newcastle Eldon Square, Gateshead Metrocentre, Birmingham Bullring, and Bluewater. Further openings are planned for Manchester Arndale, Oxford Westgate and Cardiff St David’s.
Sarah Boyd, Managing Director of Sephora UK, said: “2025 is shaping up to be one of our most exciting (and busiest!) years yet at Sephora UK and bringing our beauty playground to Sheffield is a huge part of that momentum.
“Every new store is a celebration of our commitment to making beauty more accessible, inclusive, and inspiring for the unique communities we join.”
At the end of 2024, Sephora revealed that it wanted to have at least 20 UK stores within the next two to three years.
NAM Implications:
- Sephora revealed that it wanted to have at least 20 UK stores within the next two to three years.
- i.e. Sephora wish to open a further 11 stores by end of 2027.
- Taking this opening rate at face value, and given your product mix and positioning…
- …what ideally would be your fair share of sales and investment?
- Worth taking steps now to start the process?
- Or prefer to await a rival showing how?
