Superdrug Preparing For Record-Breaking Christmas

Superdrug has announced a national recruitment drive across its store estate to prepare for what it expects to be a bumper festive season.

The health & beauty retailer is seeking an additional 1,000 sales assistants to support stores ahead of increased footfall during Black Friday and Christmas.

Superdrug stated that 2025 was set to be its biggest festive season to date, fuelled by ongoing investment in its in-store experience. Earlier this year, the group introduced its innovative Beauty Playground concept in 30 stores nationwide, which provides an elevated and interactive way to shop. In addition, Superdrug has bolstered its branded offering and own-brand portfolio with innovative new products.

Superdrug’s People Director, Amy Davies, said: “As we prepare for our biggest Christmas yet, we’re excited to welcome new colleagues into the Superdrug community. This year we’ve continued to focus on enhancing the in-store experience for our customers, it’s an exceptional time to join our business.”

Superdrug saw strong Christmas trading in 2024, with December sales increasing by 5.1% and market share up across the festive period.

Superdrug’s COO, Simon Comins, added: “Christmas is always a pivotal and exciting time for Superdrug, and these new roles will enable us to deliver our best festive season yet. Our stores are ready for the season, supported by continued investment in our existing portfolio through the innovative Beauty Playground format and the opening of new stores. We remain committed to delivering exceptional service and an enhanced shopping experience for every customer this Christmas.”

Superdrug has launched 400 of the latest Korean Beauty products in its stores and online this week, marking its first major step into international beauty and showcasing some of the world’s “most exciting” beauty products.
