Ape Snacks, a fast-growing UK-based healthy snack brand, has purchased Emily Fruit Crisps and will now form a new combined business called Nurture Brands Limited.
The move comes just months after Ape Snacks was sold to a private investor. The business produces a range of natural coconut-based snacks that are sold in major UK grocers and overseas.
Meanwhile, Emily Crisps is a fledgling manufacturer of fruit and vegetable crisps sold in retailers such as Waitrose, Boots and Tesco.
With demand for healthier snacks increasing, Nurture Brands stated that combining the two companies will provide a platform for the business to “accelerate growth, pursue more innovation and support the continued investment into consumer awareness and trial”.
The owner of the new business is Ben Arbib, the entrepreneur behind plant-based food & drink maker Rebel Kitchen. He said: “We are incredibly excited about the opportunity to put together two really exciting, fast growing brands in Emily and Ape. The brands both share the same the values, focusing on whole natural ingredients and great taste”.
Nurture Brands will be led by Managing Director Bev Morton, a former executive of Mars Confectionery. It will be based in Farringdon, London.
Financial details of the deal were not revealed.
