The London-based drink brand Nix & Kix has landed a US distribution deal with Iris Nova, a Coca-Cola-backed soft drinks maker and distributor.
It will see Nix & Kix’s five-strong canned range distributed across the US via Iris Nova’s direct-to-consumer (DTC) platform, which takes orders by text message to a customer base of over 200,000.
News of the deal comes just days after Nix & Kix exceeded a £500,000 crowdfunding target on the Seedrs platform. The brand is now overfunding to ramp up marketing investment, boost its e-commerce activities, and grow its sales team. The capital will also be used to expand the company’s operations to meet growing demand.
“The partnership with Iris Nova couldn’t have come at a better time,” said co-founder Julia Kessler “We just finished a re-brand which was well received by the trade, and based on initial feedback we expect the US to be a great opportunity”.
Co-founder Kerstin Robinson added: “Crowdfunding is an exciting step for us as we continue on our mission to be the leading premium soft drink brand. We’ve built a strong platform for growth and I am excited to give our customers the chance to become shareholders.”
Nix & Kix started selling its current range in early 2017 after spotting a gap in the market for better-for-you and “more exciting adult drinks”. Since then, it has sold over 5 million products across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
The Nix & Kix range includes Mango Ginger, Cucumber Mint, Blood Orange Turmeric, Raspberry Rhubarb, and Watermelon Hibiscus flavours which are sold in Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Ocado, and Waitrose; as well as restaurants such as Nandos.
