Chapel Down Restructuring Management Team

English wine producer and retailer Chapel Down has announced several changes to the Board and management team to support its growth plans.

Richard Woodhouse, Chief Finance & Chief Operating Officer, will be leaving the business at the end of May 2022. He has been a member of the Chapel Down board and executive leadership team for the last 17 years, during which time he led the financial and operations functions of the business.

To support its growth going forward, the company stated it was restructuring its leadership team to separate the head of the Finance and Operations teams into two distinct positions. A recruitment process for these roles is now underway, with Woodhouse continuing in his current role to assist with the handover to the new Chief Financial Officer and Operations Director.

Meanwhile, Mark Harvey is moving from his current role as Chief Commercial Officer to Chief Marketing Officer, with the aim of bringing an increased focus to the development of its premium Chapel Down wine brand in the UK & International markets.

In addition, Tom Hepworth-Bond is joining its team as UK Sales Director. Having previously worked with Chase Distillery and Bibendum, he will be responsible for leading the sales team and the delivery of trading plans and customer partnerships across the UK off & on-trade channels. This will include responsibility for Chapel Down’s growing direct-to-consumer e-commerce business.

Chapel Down concluded its statement by saying its 2021 year to date trading performance remains strong, adding: “The board is excited about the future opportunities to both premiumise and grow the scale of our dynamic and exciting English wine and spirits business.”
