GroceryAid’s Barcode Festival Breaks Fundraising Record

Barcode Festival, the annual music and entertainment fundraising event hosted by GroceryAid, has raised over £1m for the first time in its five-year history.

Supported by over 100 sponsors, the event at Magazine London last week brought thousands of colleagues together, from factory floor to head office, to back the charity that supports the grocery industry

Headlining the Skittles Stage were 90s DJ, Fatboy Slim, girl band Sugababes and Eurovision sensation Sam Ryder. Attracting the crowds on the Swan Stage were East Enders star Shaun Williamson bringing Barrioke; Ella Vaday and Kitty Scott-Claus, plus DJ Tinchy Strider, while the M&S Demo Kitchen included celebrity chefs Ainsley Harriot, Rosemary Schrager and Fred Sirieix.

Jane Hill, Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Engagement, said: “We have seen thousands of colleagues, from all areas of the industry enjoy a spectacular event whilst strengthening industry relationships, launching new products, raising brands awareness, and creating new business relationships.

“We are proud of how the event has grown to become an iconic event in the industry calendar which has raised a record-breaking amount this year. With our welfare team experiencing a 44% increase in incidents of support last year, Barcode raises vital funds which enable us to keep these services completely free and confidential to anyone working in grocery.”

Barcode Festival 2024 will be held again at Magazine London on 4 July 2024. Tickets are now available from the GroceryAid website
