Highland Spring Recalls Sparkling Water Bottles Due To Explosion Risk

Highland Spring has issued an urgent product recall following reports that a small number of its sparkling water bottles have exploded.

The Foods Standard Agency said some 750ml bottles were potentially affected by a manufacturing fault. Customers who have purchased any of the affected products are being advised not to drink the water. Instead, they should “carefully” place the bottles in a bag and dispose of them immediately.

The Scottish drinks supplier stated that a full refund will be given, with no receipt is required.

It added: “Highland Spring Group takes its responsibilities to consumers extremely seriously and always aims to ensure the highest possible standards of product safety. We are sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment this product recall may cause you.”

The 750ml bottles with the batch codes 1137, 1138, 1139, 1172, 1173, 1201 and 1202, and best-before dates of May, June, or July 2023 have been recalled.
