Hovis Announces Exit Of CEO

The Hovis brand has announced that Nish Kankiwala is set to step down as Chief Executive, effective end-September 2022.

Kankiwala, who has more than 40 years of experience in the FMCG industry, joined Hovis as Chairman in 2014 before later taking up the CEO role. He noted: “Throughout my tenure, I have been humbled by the support, kindness, resilience and creativity of my team and colleagues, and I would like to them all for their contribution over the last eight years … Hovis is now poised for its next stage of growth and it is time for me to step down and pursue a broader set of plural commercial activities.”

Robert Higginson, currently a non-executive director at Hovis, will become the interim CEO. Higginson has previously been MD of Warburtons and Executive Chairman of Frank Robert & Sons.
