Kerry Foods has formally ended operations at its production facility in Burton-on-Trent, as previously announced in June this year.
The factory had been operated by Kerry since 1990, after it bought it from Robirch, but the closure had been imminent following the loss of a Tesco contract in 2018.
The factory shut it doors on 30 August, leading to the loss of up to 900 jobs. The Unite union said 120 of its members have found new jobs, but noted that many more are still looking for work.
Kerry Foods noted: “The company would like to extend a sincere thank you to all our Burton colleagues for their continued hard work and commitment and we wish them the best for the future.”
