Mars Wrigley has announced the appointment of Marc Carena as its new Regional President for Europe, CIS & Turkey.
Carena joins the food manufacturer from McDonald’s Russia, where he has spent almost four years as Managing director. Prior to that, he served as McDonald’s Corporate Vice President International Lead Markets covering Germany, France, UK & Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Before joining the fast-food chain, Carena spent six and a half years in senior general management and marketing positions in the German retailer Metro Group, with his last position being Chief Executive of Metro Cash & Carry Croatia. He has also held several senior general manager, marketing and sales positions at Nestlé across Europe, Asia and Africa.
In his new position, Carena will “bring his extensive experience in retail, foodservice and FMCG to help enhance and drive Mars Wrigley’s strategy for purpose-led growth across Europe, CIS and Turkey”.
The Regional President role was previously held for six years by Shaid Shah, who is now serving as Mars Wrigley’s Global President of food, multi-sales and global customers.
