Mondelēz International has announced the appointment of Jay Cooper as President of its operations in Northern Europe.
He will be responsible for businesses in the UK, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark, where Mondelēz manufactures brands including Cadbury, Oreo, Maynards Bassetts, Ritz, belVita, Freia and Maribou.
Cooper is a 20-year Mondelēz veteran and has led biscuit, chocolate, and confectionery businesses both in the US and internationally during his career; most recently holding the position of Senior VP of Growth for North America. The company noted that brings to the role a “consistent track record” of commercial performance, delivering top-tier marketing activity, and producing “best-in-class” digital and social marketing.
Cooper replaces Clive Jones who is taking on a new role within the business as President Central Europe, EU Central Sales & Global Licensing. He will be responsible for Mondelēz International’s operations in Central Europe, which span more than 20 markets.
