Nomad Foods, the owner of brands such as Birds Eye, Findus, and Aunt Bessie’s, continued its recent strong performance during the final months of 2020 as consumers kept their freezers stocked up during the pandemic.
Preliminary figures ahead of full results later this month show the group’s organic revenue increased a better-than-expected 9.5% in its fourth quarter. This means full-year sales will have grown 8.7% with adjusted EBITDA coming in at approximately €467m.
However, the group is only expecting growth of approximately 1-2% this year due to tough comparatives and trading patterns returning to more normal levels as the pandemic eases.
Stéfan Descheemaeker, Nomad Foods’ Chief Executive Officer, commented: “We enter the new year with strong momentum and expect 2021 to mark our 5th consecutive year of organic growth, a feat that only a distinguished group of food companies has achieved.
“Notwithstanding our history, the growth prospects of our company remain exciting with multiple avenues for continued value creation.”
