Procter & Gamble has named its Chief Operating Officer and long-serving executive Jon Moeller as its next President and Chief Executive.

Moeller will take on the role from 1 November, succeeding David Taylor who will become Executive Chairman of the consumer goods giant.
After joining P&G in 1988, Moeller became a member of P&G’s global leadership team in 2009, also serving as Chief Financial Officer and Vice Chairman among other top roles. The company highlighted that he played a pivotal role in designing and implementing P&G’s portfolio, superiority, productivity and organization design strategy, which was one of the most significant transformations in the company’s history.
Shailesh Jejurikar, CEO of P&G’s largest business unit named Fabric & Home Care, will take over Moeller’s current Chief Operating Officer role.
After thanking Taylor for his service over the last six years, James McNerney, Lead Director of P&G’s Board, said: “Jon has been an integral part of P&G’s leadership team for well over two decades, helping develop the strategies that P&G people are executing with excellence to drive P&G’s growth and value creation. He is an outstanding leader, and the company will benefit from his ongoing leadership to build on the strong momentum he has helped create over the last few years.”
P&G’s sales during the pandemic period have been boosted by people spending more time at home eating its food brands and using its cleaning products. However, the group has recently warned that its prices will have to rise this year to offset higher raw material and transportation costs.
