Pladis, the owner of brands such as McVitie’s, Go Ahead, and Jacob’s, has announced the appointment of Tim Brett as Managing Director of its operations in Western Europe and Emerging Markets.

The move follows the company’s decision to combine its Western Europe and Emerging Markets activities into one region in order to “maximise on shared opportunities” and grow its presence in new and emerging markets.
Pladis stated that Brett would be tasked with helping identify growth opportunities and reach untapped potential across the regions. He has over three decades of FMCG experience across international markets, having lived and worked in countries such as the UK, Romania, Hungary, Poland, and Japan. He joins Pladis from The Coca-Cola Company, where he spent nearly four years as President of its Western Europe Business Unit – an organisation spanning 14 countries. Prior to that, he worked for the Guinness/United Distillers and Walkers (PepsiCo).
As part of the realignment, Suryakant Pandey will assume responsibility for Pladis’ new Middle East, North Africa and India region.
Salman Amin, CEO of Pladis commented: “We’re delighted to have Tim join the pladis team. I have been so impressed by his passion, as well as his track record of taking bold decisions to ensure consistent success and growth.
“Western Europe and Emerging Markets is an important region for pladis, and his expertise across sales, marketing and innovation will be invaluable as we look to grow our talent and leadership around the world.”
Brett added: “I am excited to join Pladis at such a pivotal time. The company’s iconic brands have a wealth of potential in this market, and I look forward to working with the team to introduce new and beloved brands to consumers across the region.”
