Pladis Becomes First FMCG Company Accredited By The Association Of Professional Sales

pladis, the company behind brands including McVitie’s, Jacob’s, Carr’s and Flipz, has become the first FMCG business in the UK & Ireland to receive an Investor in Sales Award from the Association of Professional Sales (APS). The company stated that the achievement marked its commitment to following ethical sales practices and delivering a “world-class experience” to all of its retail partners.

In what is claimed to be an industry first, pladis’ field-sales team completed the APS professional registration exam, with a 75% pass rate. The company said the achievement adds to the professional development of its sales force, focused on building skills, knowledge and behaviour to forge trusting, sustainable relationships with its convenience, impulse, forecourt and multiple retailer customers.

Scott Snell, Vice President, Customer (Sales) at pladis UK&I commented: “I’m immensely proud of the team and the collective achievement of being recognised as the first FMCG company to be awarded by the APS.

“Through investment in the growth and development of our colleagues, such as the APS accreditation, our ambition is to deliver a World Class Customer Experience, giving our seasoned sales team the top qualifications and credibility to build long-lasting and impactful relationships with our customers.”

Graham Smith, APS Head of Corporate Success added: “We’re confident the company’s commitment to skilled, ethical sales will pay dividends for both the business and its customers.

“Regardless of the industry sector, customers expect to be working with professional salespeople and it’s great to have pladis as the first FMCG company to take home the Investor in Sales award.”
