Aldi is launching a temporary pizza delivery service across three cities to mark the launch of a new range.
Offering its new Ultimate Takeaway line, consumers can pre-order up to two pizzas for £3.99 each, with no delivery cost.
The discounter noted a medium Meateor pizza from leading takeaway brand Domino’s currently costs £20.99, plus a £2.50 delivery fee.
Launching in Manchester, Edinburgh and Cardiff to coincide with Fresher’s Week, people within selected postcodes will be able to pre-book their delivery timeslot via a dedicated website – aldipizzadelivery.co.uk – from today. The hot pizzas will then be delivered on 3 October.
Aldi’s new Ultimate Takeaway range comes in three Domino’s inspired flavours: The Meaty One (inspired by Meateor), The Banger (inspired by Absolute Banger), and The Texas Style BBQ Chicken & Bacon (inspired by Texas BBQ).
The retail range is launching in stores from 9 October.
“With prices of takeaways soaring, we’re excited to be able to offer shoppers delicious pizzas at a fraction of the price of expensive high-street chains,” said Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK.
“The quality ingredients and affordable price of the Ultimate Takeaway range will no doubt change people’s idea of the supermarket pizza. Better yet, we’re thrilled to be able to deliver this product hot to shoppers’ doors and truly treat our customers to the full takeaway experience.”
