Aldi Named ‘Best Grocer’ At Industry Awards

Aldi added to its bulging trophy cabinet last week after being crowned ‘Best Grocer’ for the second consecutive year at the Retail Week Awards, beating off competition from runner up, The Co-op.

The discounter won the title in recognition of its achievements and successes over the past year.

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of corporate buying at Aldi, said: “We’re delighted to have won Best Grocer at the Retail Week Awards for the second consecutive year.

“The recognition of Aldi as a market leader from top industry influencers is testament to the hard work we put in every year, providing customers with high quality products at amazing prices.”

The same awards saw Tesco chief Dave Lewis receive the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Retail’ gong.
