Asda Brings Back £5 Bonus For First-Time ‘Rewards App’ Users

Asda has announced plans to bring back its ‘First Scan Bonus’ offer, after it proved successful during a run in February.

The chain said the scheme, which is applicable for first-time users of the Asda Rewards app, saw its customers earn more than £2m during February.  The scheme is now live again and will run until 3 May, both in-store and online, with no minimum spend required.

New users need to download the Asda Rewards app, sign up for an account, and scan the app for the first time to receive £5 in their Cashpot. Customers who have previously downloaded the app but are yet to scan for the first time will also benefit from the bonus. Asda Rewards provides relevant offers to customers and the experience is personalised to the individual customer to maximise the value that they can get back when they shop at Asda.

Customers can also expect new Missions and Star Products every week, and for events such as the King’s Coronation and half-term, to help grow their Cashpot. Vouchers can be created with as little as £1. With the maximum voucher amount at £100, there are plenty of ways that customers can utilise their Cashpot.

NAM Implications:
  • Every little helps?
  • (Seriously, Asda are appearing increasingly dynamic currently)
  • Might be worth applying bonus to all app users to increase impact on behaviour?
