Lidl Rolls Outs Loyalty App Following Trials

Lidl has officially launched its new rewards app called Lidl Plus following a testing phase that began last month.

Once downloaded, the app provides shoppers with rewards and discounts when they scan their digital card at the till.

Benefits include scratch card prizes where users can win anything from 25p to £20 off their weekly shop, and a range of single-use discount coupons.

In addition, Lidl has introduced a ‘Coupon Plus’ feature where customers will get bonus money-off coupons of up to £10 when they reach a certain spend target during a month.

The app also has special offers on products and services from third parties such as cinema tickets and Sky TV. Other features include a store locator, digital receipt storage, and weekly promotion leaflets.

Christian Härtnagel, Chief Executive at Lidl GB, said: “Our customers know that we offer the best quality products at market leading prices. We’ve designed Lidl Plus so we can provide an even better, tailored, shopping experience for our customers, as well as to thank them for their loyalty.”

The virtual loyalty card has been rolled out to Germany, Austria, Spain, Denmark, Poland and The Netherlands over the last couple of years, with Belgium being another recent addition in February. Once downloaded, the app can be used in all Lidl Plus enabled countries.
