Morrisons Teams Up With Just Eat To Offer On-Demand Deliveries From C-Stores

Morrisons is expanding its on-demand grocery offer by partnering with Just Eat to enable rapid deliveries from its Morrisons Daily convenience stores.

The service is initially rolling out to around 60 shops this month, giving consumers access to thousands of products from their local c-store via the Just Eat app and website. Items range from everyday essentials to last-minute Christmas items.

The two companies stated that they are planning to expand the service to over 650 Morrisons Daily stores early next year.

As well as its own online service, the supermarket works with Deliveroo and Amazon to offer the rapid delivery of groceries.

Joseph Sutton, online & wholesale director at Morrisons Convenience, said: “We have Morrisons Dailys across the country and partnering with Just Eat will offer another fast and convenient way for customers to get Morrisons groceries delivered straight to their door.”

The venture is a continuation of Just Eat’s expansion beyond its traditional restaurant delivery service. Over the past year, the company has forged partnerships with several grocery retailers, including Asda, Sainsbury’s, Iceland, and the Co-op.

Amy Heather, strategic accounts director at Just Eat UK, commented: “We know that our customers are increasingly seeking convenience, particularly in those busy moments like Christmas, and our partnership with Morrisons Daily shows our ongoing commitment to delivering a wide range and more options for our customers to get whatever they need, wherever and whenever they need them.”

NAM Implications:
  • Convenience means convenience…
  • An obvious no-brainer.
  • Anticipate a fast roll-out as promised…
  • …if not sooner.
  • i.e. find ways in which you can help to drive this initiative.
