NIQ Expands Retail Measurement Service In Ireland

Consumer intelligence company NIQ (NielsenIQ) has announced the expansion of its Ireland Retail Measurement service, with the addition of three new retailers – Aldi, Dealz and Lidl – from this week.

The firm stated the move means its Irish service will provide the most accurate and comprehensive view of FMCG consumer behaviour to manufacturers and retailers. The expansion includes the addition of data from more than 400 individual stores, expanding NIQ’s coverage of consumer purchasing by more than €5bn.

“The FMCG sector is of paramount importance for consumers, with the average household in Ireland spending more than €200 per week across grocery multiples and convenience stores,” said David Berry, NIQ market leader for Ireland.

“The inclusion of Aldi, Dealz and Lidl in the NIQ Retail Measurement service will help our manufacturer and retail clients to understand better, and respond to, changing consumer trends.”
