Sainsbury’s has announced plans to boost its Nectar reward points, as it looks to attract customers into doing their Christmas shopping early.
The supermarket chain is offering Nectar card holders the chance to claim a Double Up Voucher (worth double the usual value of their points), up to a total of £100. These vouchers can be spent in stores between November 11 and 17 or be ordered online between 28 October and 3 November.
The vouchers are redeemable across categories including Tu clothing, electricals, entertainment, homewares and cosmetics. The deal is only valid for customers who already have 1,000 Nectar points.
Jimmy Galloway, Loyalty Marketing Manager at Sainsbury’s, said: “The Double Up event has proved to be immensely popular in the past and we know that this year more than ever our customers are looking to make their money go further and find little ways to help with the cost of Christmas. We are delighted to announce that it is returning again this year and are glad to help out those customers who are looking to get a head start on their shopping.”
NAM Implications:
- Add Tesco Clubcard enhancement.
- …with Amazon Prime unlikely to sit on side-lines.
- Key issue will be how the other mults react…
- (to be ignored at their peril)
- And their simplest and fastest option will be via price cuts…
