Sainsbury’s Offering Discounts For Members Of Nectar Scheme

In the wake of Tesco’s recent ‘Clubcard Prices’ promotion, Sainsbury’s has started offering discounts to members of its recently revamped Nectar loyalty scheme.

The supermarket is offering reductions of between 5% and 50% on 266 items until 3 March.  Sainsbury’s states the discounts are available in all its stores and online for anyone with a Nectar card. They will be automatically applied at the checkout.

The Nectar Prices promotion covers a wide range of products, such as bread, ice cream, cleaning products and wine, from a host of leading brands involved.

Sainsbury’s launched an overhauled version of its Nectar programme towards the end of last year.  This included a new app and website that gives shoppers more personalised offers in order to boost engagement with the scheme.  The new digital Nectar platform has now attracted more than 3.5 million unique users with around 10,000 shoppers signing up to Nectar every day.

Sainsbury’s revealed earlier this month that Nectar and its B2C agency i2C have come together to help brands better understand, reach and engage with their customers.
