Tesco Launches New ‘Meat & Veg’ Range

Tesco has launched a new ‘Meat & Veg’ range aimed at consumers looking to adopt a healthier and more sustainable diet.

Tesco-meat-and-vegThe selection of lamb and beef products have been combined with vegetables such as carrots, peppers, and onions.  Tesco claims this will help make scratch cooking easier as it removes the need to buy and prepare vegetables separately. The products are aimed as being a base for popular dishes such as bolognese, lasagne or meatballs.

As well as being healthier and more convenient, the retailer is hoping the range will appeal to the growing number of flexitarians in the UK that are looking to reduce their meat consumption. To tap into this trend, Tesco recently became the latest supermarket to start selling plant-based meat products alongside the real thing in the meat aisle.

Director of Meat, Fish and Poultry at Tesco, Mark Suddaby commented: “We are always looking to provide quick and easy ways for customers to make healthier, more sustainable choices. Our new ‘Meat & veg’ range provides our customers with one of their five a day, helping adults and children effortlessly add more vegetables to their diets.”
