Tesco is bringing back its Clubcard Prices promotion as part of its centenary celebrations that began in January.
From Monday, the retailer’s 19 million loyalty card holders will be offered special discounts on selected items in store and online. The promotion will run for just over three weeks until 2 October.
When Tesco last ran the scheme in May, discounts of between 15% and 50% were offered on around 200 items ranging from coffee, crisps and pet food, to televisions and clothing.
The company claimed it was the first time a major supermarket had offered loyalty card holders lower prices at the checkout. Earlier this year, Tesco revealed that it planned to add more value to the Clubcard scheme and link it up across its grocery, banking and mobile businesses by utilising digitisation.
NAM Implications:
- Opportunities for NAMs in the ‘lucky 200’ to optimise the promo.
- But wise to check out fair share in terms of invest/return…
- …given the resulting high profile of scheme products…
- …and potential access to 19m Tesco customers.
