Tesco Speeds Up Roll-Out Of Whoosh Rapid Delivery Service

Just 18 months on from its launch, Tesco’s Whoosh grocery delivery service is on track to be available from more than 800 of its Express convenience stores by the end of this month.

The service offers a range of Tesco’s most popular products for delivery in as little as 30 minutes for a fee of £2.99 on orders over £15.

Alessandra Bellini, Tesco Chief Customer Officer, said: “We want to help the nation avoid disappointing dinners and lacklustre lunches. Whatever they need, Whoosh can deliver in as little as 30 minutes.”

The expansion comes despite other rapid delivery players reining in their expansion plans following a weakening in demand for their services that prospered during the pandemic. The remaining firms in the sector are now trying to cut costs and turn a profit, having previously been supported by swathes of venture capital backing.

NAM Implications:
  • 30 minutes for a fee of £2.99 on orders over £15…
  • …has to be worth scaling.
  • Time for you to try getting aboard?
