Tesco To Open Nightclub To Celebrate 30 Years Of Clubcard Scheme

Tesco is opening ‘Club Card’ – a nostalgic clubbing experience across two days in July to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its loyalty scheme.

Tesco-Nightclub-ClubcardTaking place on the 4th and 5th July at the Vinyl Factory, London, the supermarket will be hosting the “ultimate throwback party” exclusively for Clubcard members, with tickets available to book now via Eventbrite.

Tesco said visitors will be able to party like it’s 1995 (the same year Clubcard launched), with headline sets from iconic boyband Blue on the Friday (4th) and Irish girl group B*Witched on the Saturday (5th).

Beyond the headliners, a DJ will be spinning a nonstop mix of 90s and 00s classics across every session. The nostalgia throwback will also include a ‘Little Tesco’ bar serving Smirnoff Ices, J2Os and Blue WKD, alongside a Pick ‘n’ Mix sweet stand.

Visitors can also try their luck at the ‘Unexpected Item Arcade’, featuring a claw grabber arcade machine packed with prizes, including 90s-inspired bucket hats and Tesco gift cards. Guests can also win prizes from Clubcard Reward Partners, including SpaSeekers, Merlin Entertainments, Hotels.com, Cineworld, Choc on Choc, and Disney by digging through a pool filled with balls.

The club itself will be filled with inflatable furniture, neon lights, retro TVs and a DJ booth. Each ticket costs £5, which gives entry and three drinks. Proceeds will be donated 50/50 to FareShare and Trussell.

Tesco began marking the 30th anniversary of its Clubcard scheme earlier this year with the launch of an advertising and promotional campaign.
