Waitrose has opened another store in the UAE under licence with Fine Fare Food Market and confirmed plans for more.
The latest outlet opened at the end of last week in The Galleria Mall – a high-end retail mall on Al Marayah Island in Abu Dhabi.
Waitrose also plans to open its first shop on The Palm in Dubai by the end of the year as part of the opening of the new Nakheel Mall. It will become the largest supermarket on the iconic man-made island.
The new outlets will take the total number of stores the upmarket retailer has in the Middle East to ten since opening its first shop outside in Dubai in 2008.
As well as the essential Waitrose and Duchy Organic brands, customers in the UAE will also now be able buy products from the chain’s recently refreshed No. 1 range.
Barry Delehanty, Head of B2B Growth & Development at Waitrose & Partners, said: “We’re incredibly proud that the quality of our products and the trust in our brand continues to appeal to the international market.”
