Waitrose is looking to drive footfall this Easter with a campaign based around ‘GOOD’ food and drink for the four-day weekend.
Nathan Ansell, Customer Director at Waitrose, said: “Easter calls for the GOOD stuff – we’ve created a bold campaign with Saatchi & Saatchi featuring our very best products that you can’t get anywhere else, ensuring shoppers make Waitrose the destination for their celebrations. We also have some very exciting creative landing and well, let’s just say Easter Deserves More… watch this space.”
The retailer noted that with higher welfare produce at the forefront of consumers’ minds, it will be running a number of deals to ensure they can “enjoy top quality food, whilst making a great saving this Easter”. These include a third off high-welfare lamb from 20 March to 2 April and 25% off roast essentials, such as its free-range Corn Fed Whole Chicken, Roast Potatoes and Bramley Apple Pie.
The GOOD drinks element will offer shoppers 25% off all wine and Champagne priced £6 and over. The offer will run from 20 March until 2 April.
Meanwhile, the retailer’s hot cross buns will be on offer at two packs for £2.50 – a saving of £1.20. Across 200 of its shops, Waitrose will be offering two days of hot cross bun tastings to inspire customers with pairings whilst driving sales.
Saatchi & Saatchi will be running an advertising campaign in the national press and out-of-home sites with the tagline ‘Easter calls for the GOOD stuff’. The campaign features hero products including Sam on Toast, the Hot Cross Bunettone, and No.1 Belgian Chocolate Hot Cross Buns.
Waitrose will be delivering a social campaign featuring content creator and TV personality, Sam Thompson. Meanwhile, farmer and content creator Julius Roberts will be giving its customers inspiration on how to cook a high-welfare Easter meal using the best of British produce.
NAM Implications:
- Good Food & Drink, Waitrose, and Easter are a good fit…
- Add appropriate discounts…
- …and this becomes a no brainer for some.
