Waitrose To Sell Hotel Chocolat Products

Products made by fast-growing confectionery retailer Hotel Chocolat have gone on sale in Waitrose stores.

The deal between the two companies has seen the upmarket grocer introduce Hotel Chocolat-branded bays and gondola ends in its stores. They will stock around 20 of the chocolatier’s best-selling products, including boxed chocolate selections, vegan ranges, alcoholic drinks, and its Velvetiser hot chocolate maker. It is the first time that Waitrose has given an exclusive bay on its shelves to a third-party company.

Waitrose has launched the partnership in 28 of its stores, with further roll-out planned. The Hotel Chocolat products will also be made available on its website.

Stephanie Chafor, Head of Grocery and Frozen Foods at Waitrose, commented: “Hotel Chocolat has long brought innovation and authenticity to the chocolate scene and we are excited by this new partnership and the dedicated space in our shops. We think our customers will love the brand’s ethical and sustainability credentials as much as the quality of their chocolate.”

Hotel Chocolat already works with John Lewis, selling products in the department store’s gift zone.
