Waitrose has unveiled its largest-ever vegan and vegetarian product launches with two new ranges covering nearly 40 lines. The Plantlife and GoVeggie ranges are part of the retailer’s recently launched Holistic Living brand and come amid surging demand for meat-free alternatives.
The new ranges feature a number of “first to market” supermarket products including Crispy No Beef with Sweet Chilli Sauce, Thai Style No Fish Cakes, No Chorizo Tortelloni and Mushroom Scallop Linguine. All of the new products are designed to provide “healthy and simple meals, snacks and treats for anyone looking to adopt a more holistic approach to their lifestyle”.
The new ranges include vegan savoury snacks, main courses and desserts, as well a variety of vegetarian sausages and burgers developed by the supermarket’s innovation chefs.
Martyn Lee, the Executive Chef at Waitrose, commented, “We wanted to provide our customers with more choice when it came to incorporating a holistic approach to their meals. Making ‘meat free Monday’ or a flexitarian lifestyle even easier, these new ranges have inspired us to be more innovative.”
The Plantlife and GoVeggie ranges launched today with more products coming in October.
