CJ Lang Appoints Former Morrisons Exec As Head Of Trading

CJ Lang and Son, the Scottish SPAR wholesaler and retailer, has announced the appointment of Robbie Moore as Head of Trading.

He joins the business from Morrisons where he was Wholesale Buying Manager. His role there involved heading up core grocery for Morrisons Wholesale and the M Daily franchise. Prior to that, Moore spent seven years at Costcutter where he held the positions of Head of Commercial, Category Manager and Buying Assistant.

His new role at CJ Lang will involve heading up the trading team ensuring that budgeted wholesale trading for the business is maintained and developed in terms of volume, value and margins. He will also be tasked with identifying sales opportunities and promoting loyalty, and ensuring approved store development activities deliver added value.

Colin McLean, CEO at CJ Lang, commented: “We’re delighted to see Robbie joining our SPAR Scotland Exec team where he will actively provide advice and input to the business and our members. He will be a great addition encouraging and supporting the SPAR brand and standards of operation in SPAR retail stores.”

Moore added: “I am excited to take this role with CJ Lang. Operationally the trading team is in a very strong position and I look forward to building on its success.”

He replaces Richard Collins, who is leaving CJ Lang & Son on 1 October to move back to be with his family in Yorkshire.
