Co-op Wholesale has appointed Martin Swadling, formerly of Booker, as its new Customer Director.

The group stated that the appointment signals its focus on “market-leading proposition, operational excellence and supply chain innovation to support long-term sustainable growth across its network.”
With over 30 years of experience in retail and wholesale, Swadling most recently served as Customer Director at Booker. Previously, he led the Tesco-owned wholesaler’s Londis and Premier symbol groups. His career also includes senior leadership roles at Musgrave and Grand Metropolitan Foods.
As Customer Director at Co-op Wholesale, Swadling will lead the strategy and execution of its logistics and warehouse operations.
“Martin brings extensive industry knowledge and a proven track record in building strong customer propositions and leading complex operations,” said Katie Secretan, Managing Director of Co-op Wholesale.
“His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our supply chain, enhance service for partners, and deliver on our growth ambitions.”
