His departure comes a year on from when the £8.5bn buying group was formed via the merger of the Today’s Group and Landmark Wholesale.

To support the integration between the two businesses, Mills was appointed to the deputy position having been Managing Director at Landmark. Darren Goldney, the MD of Today’s, took on the lead role at Unitas.

After Mills leaves the group, John Kinney, currently Retail Director, will become Sales and Marketing Director.

Mills commented: “Unitas is in good shape and good hands. The executive team led by Darren is experienced and passionate about supporting our members to be competitive in a tough and uncertain market.”

Goldney added: “The integration has been effectively managed and Unitas is making great progress with both member and supplier feedback being positive.

“The group has excellent members, is engaging with more suppliers than ever before, and is growing both capabilities and sales.”
